House Update

It's been two weeks today that we put the offer in on the house and we did get a little update this morning. This is straight from our agent's email:

"We did just receive word that the bank negotiator ordered a “payoff amount” and that there is nothing regarding acceptance yet. Seems to me that they are getting much closer to accepting something, but no one knows when."

It's strange because that news isn't really anything, but yet it feels so important. I think it's just because we've waited so long for anything to get this far and now it feels like something is actually happening. It lets us know that we're still in this.

In other house news, the house that we put our first offer on way back in March has gone back on the market. This time owned by the Dept of Housing and Urban Development. Offers are supposed to be submitted electronically by the 18th. I think if our offer gets turned down on the current house before then, we would consider putting an offer on that one again. But we are both definitely in favor of the current house over the old one.

That's it for now. In a perfect world, we would get a solid answer by the end of the week, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
