We got a quick email from our agent yesterday:
The owners signed off on the offer and it was submitted to the bank. The bank has now submitted it to the Phase 2 Negotiator and they have 10 days to review the file and make a decision.
I'm hoping to get a little more detail on what the "decision" consists of. It could just be the decision on how much they will actually accept for the house, which means that if all offers are lower than what they want, they'll notify everyone and we'll all have an opportunity to up our offers. Or they could decide that one of the offers is sufficient and the buyers (whether it be us or one of the other two) will be notified that the offer has been accepted. This is just what I believe happens now, but we see our agent again in the morning to take pictures of the house and I'll ask for some clarification.
This is the closest we've gotten to getting an answer so far and I'm scared and excited. I can barely imagine getting an answer within 10 days after we've been working at this for so long. You'll definitely know as soon as we hear anything!
For now, we've got a busy weekend ahead. I'm providing a birthday snack for Aiden's class today, then it's off to another eye appointment to tell him that I hate contacts. Then John and I have tickets to see Mikhail Baryshnikov (the best ballet dancer ever) in person tonight and I just want to hop up and down like a little girl. It's truly a dancers dream to see him perform....and I have 2nd row tickets!! Saturday and Sunday will be family-filled with a Minthorne cousin reunion and Aiden's birthday party.
Maybe we'll be so busy, I won't have time to be nervous about the house!
